RV Audio Design

Solar

Solar is a sound installation composed by Strijbos & van Rijswijk that merges sustainability with art. A series of small to medium-sized solar panels is scattered across a large field. At the center stands an object reminiscent of an oversized sundial, serving as a resting point where visitors can sit and listen.

Each solar panel plays a dual role: they generate the energy needed to bring the artwork to life and act as individual sound sources. Each panel emits its own sound, and together they form a full composition. Visitors can walk among the panels or sit beside them, becoming immersed in a spatial composition performed by a chorus of invisible voices and strings.

For this project, I contributed to developing the technical system behind the electronics that power the MP3 players with solar energy and drive the exciters attached to the solar panels.
